Smyth County School Board Vacancy Announcement
The Smyth County School Board is seeking candidates for the interim appointment of the vacant Chilhowie District School Board seat for a term, beginning on or around October 14, 2024, through qualification of a member elected in a special election to be held on November 4, 2025. In accordance with the Code of Virginia, Section § 24.2-228, when a vacancy occurs, the School Board shall appoint a qualified voter and resident of the election district in which the vacancy occurs.
Interested residents of the Chilhowie District of Smyth County are invited to submit both a letter of interest and a resume on or before 4:30 p.m., on Friday, September 20, 2024, to the attention of:
